The science calls for the use of blue, red, and infrared light exactly like that you will find in the LightpathLED Diesel Blue Mini. It’s top of my list Best Blue and Red Light Therapy for Acne (According to Experts)

Acne Light Therapy At-Home is Now a Reality
LightpathLED Blue Mini allows you to do light therapy for acne at home.
Several studies have achieved remarkable acne reduction using only light therapy.
In these studies, scientists used red, blue, and infrared light therapy to reduce acne.
In a few studies, the alternating of red/infrared with blue worked best at reducing acne. If you have the time to do the colors in succession rather than at the same time, you might see better-than-normal results.
I have documented the red light therapy science on acne reduction in my article: 13 Ways Red Light Therapy for Acne Works, Based on Studies
That’s if you have the time. The fact is, you should see excellent results with all three colors running at the same time.
The flexibility of the Blue Mini is key. You can run blue and then red/infrared, just as they did in the most successful acne studies.

The device has a 6 x 4-inch treatment area. It’s equipped with a blue light at 450 nm, which is known to kill P acnes bacteria, a common cause of acne.
It’s powered by a rechargeable battery, which makes it portable. On a single charge, the battery lasts for two hours. This means you can have up to 12 treatment sessions before needing to recharge it.

You should notice several benefits from using the Blue Mini. It reduces various forms of acne, decreases the size and pigment intensity of acne scars, and even reduces wrinkles. These wavelengths are also the ones that rejuvenate skin tone. Share this with Grandma to get the most out of it.
The recommended treatment schedule is to maintain a 3-inch distance and apply for 5 minutes per area, 3-4 times a week.
Despite its compact size, this device delivers a full dose of light in just 5 minutes when used at a 3-inch distance. This is a very fast treatment time for an acne light.
There are a couple of things that could be improved. The 6 x 4-inch treatment area is sufficient for treating one side of the face at a time, but a larger device would allow for a faster treatment session. Also, the battery requires 6 hours to recharge, which can feel a bit long.
However, I believe the LightpathLED Mini Blue Red NIR is a good investment. It’s from Scott Kenney’s LightpathLED, a brand I trust.
Plus, it comes with a 60-day money-back guarantee, so there’s no risk in trying it out. While it’s not cheap, I think it’s worth it for anyone dealing with acne.

What I Like | Finally, we have the acne specs we want in a red light therapy device. This LightpathLED handheld box outputs just blue, red and infrared, or blue+red+infrared all at once. In a few studies, the alternating of red/infrared with blue worked best at reducing acne. If you have the time to do the colors in succession rather than at the same time, you might see better-than-normal results. Nevertheless, that would be the far right of the bell curve. You should see excellent results with all three colors running at the same time.
This unit is portable, and the battery lasts two hours on one charge. That adds up to 12 treatment sessions before it needs a recharge. A device this size is usually not as powerful. At a 3-inch distance, you’re delivering a full dose of light in 5 minutes. You should be able to do 1/2 the face at a time, making this a 10-minute treatment time. Very nice. |
What I Would Improve | A 6 x 4 in. treatment area is large enough to do one side of the face at a time. A large device with these specs would give you a faster treatment session of only 5 minutes because you’d get the whole face in one shot.
The battery needs 6 hours to recharge, which feels long, doesn’t it? I guess it doesn’t matter too much, if you plug it in after a day’s work, it’ll recharge while you’re not using it. If this were any other company’s device, I’m not sure I’d agree with the price. But it’s Scott Kenney’s LightpathLED, you’re going to get what you pay for with Scott, and you have a 60-day return window, so while it’s spendy, I’m still fine with recommending this device for acne relief. |
