The Mito Mobile is a 12-bulb red light therapy device for home use. It is 6 x 4 in., runs on rechargeable battery, and is powerful enough to treat 1 spot at 12 inches in 10 minutes (that’s powerful).

The Mito Mobile Flex has 12 bulbs but they’re doubles, so you get 24 lights. It is 6 x 3 in., and runs on a rechargeable battery.  Use for no more than 5 minutes per spot when holding on the skin or as far as 3 inches away. It’s powerful, and you don’t want too much light or the effects will diminish.

Where to Put the Mito Mobile

use for targeted pain relief

Hold the Mito Mobile in your hand, or let it rest on the target body part.

I sometimes use Velcro straps to hold handhelds onto my arm, leg, back or belly.

Mito Mobile Wavelengths

The Mito Mobile is 660 nm red and 850 nm infrared. These are exactly the wavelengths you want for pain relief (including from arthritis), and skin care (especially for wrinkle reduction).

Who Should Use the Mito Mobile (Primary Goals)

The Mito Mobile is a portable red light therapy device for inflammation and pain reduction and wrinkle therapy.

Use the Mobile or Mobile Flex for pain relief

The wavelengths of 660 nm and 850 nm in the Mito Mobile stimulate the mitochondria to create more biological energy.

They knock loose nitric oxide from the mitochondria to the blood vessels. The blood vessels enlarge, allowing in more oxygen and nutrition for tissue repair.

The Mobile has a timer (see the bottom window) and comes with a case with recharging cord storage
Mito Mobile is ideal for: Because its wavelengths:
quicker exercise recovery reduces inflammation
pain relief red and infrared are analgesic (like aspirin) and reduce inflammation
arthritis relief Multiple studies show that red and infrared light reduce osteoarthritis discomfort
reduced inflammation Multiple studies show that red and infrared light reduce inflammation, especially chronic inflammation that is no longer helpful to the healing process.
tendinitis relief Use the Mito Mobile on the arm as tendinitis and carpal tunnel therapy.
cellulite and wrinkle reduction The red and infrared wavelengths in the Mito Mobile trigger collagen to reduce wrinkles, and elastin to tighten and firm skin.
testosterone stimulation Based on anecdotal evidence, the red and infrared in the Mito Mobile will trigger testosterone production.

Who Should Use the Mito Mobile (Secondary Goals)

The Mito Mobile gives you bioactive red and infrared light, but as a small handheld, might not be the ideal device for some goals. Use the Mito Mobile for these secondary goals:

Mito Mobile’s Wavelengths also support these goals However the idea device type for this therapy is:
belly fat reduction a neoprene pad
hair growth a helmet or hat
acne a handheld or tabletop with blue, red and infrared wavelengths

Protection from Unwanted Artifacts and Brightness

The Mito Mobile has no  unwanted electromagnetic fields (EMFs). You do not need goggles for these wavelengths, but if you find the Mito Mobile to be very bright (you find yourself squinting) then protect your eyes with goggles.

Red Light Therapy Handheld Comparisons

The best competition for the Mito Mobile is LightpathLED’s Blue Mini. They are both battery powered and portable. Read my review and guide to the Blue MiniOpens in a new tab. here. Update March 2 2023, the Blue Mini is out of stock.

The Mito Mobile is 6 x 4 inches and outputs 660 nm and 850 nm red and infrared light. It has 12 bulbs, a 60-day return policy with no restocking fee, and a year warranty.

Time per session is 10 minutes. Use the Mito Mobile for aging skin, cellulite, skin tightening, inflammation, arthritis, and pain relief.

The LightpathLED Blue Mini is 6 x 4 inches and outputs 430 nm, 660 nm and 810 nm.

The blue wavelength is antiseptic and essential for good acne treatment.

There is clinical evidence that the blue light helps with eczema and psoriasis as well.

The 810 nm on the Blue Mini is more absorbable than the Mito Mobile’s 850 nm, but this is a difference that is probably of no concern.

The amount of light that’s absorbed or not absorbed because of a 40-nanometer difference is not consequential. The Blue Mini has 16 bulbs, a 60-day return policy with no restocking fee, and a 1-year warranty. Time per session is 10 minutes.

Use the Blue Mini for acne, eczema, psoriasis, aging skin, cellulite, skin tightening, inflammation, arthritis, and pain relief. View the LightpathLED Blue Mini hereOpens in a new tab. or buy it here on LightpathLED.com  (use code “RED” ). Update March 2 2023, the Blue Mini is out of stock.

Pros and Cons of the Mito Mobile

Black therapy device on stand with Mito Red Light pouchThe Mito Mobile is a powerful and portable red light therapy device.

Mito Red Light has an excellent customer service and product quality reputation. You can expect the Mito Mobile to last. The red and infrared are good wavelengths for inflammation, wrinkles and arthritis.

If you compare the Mito Mobile to the LightpathLED Blue Mini, the Mito is smaller, and lacks the blue wavelengths good for acne therapy.

The Mito has fewer lights. But as a standalone red light therapy device, it’s durable and powerful enough to give 10 minute spot treatments to reduce pain and soreness.

Conclusion

The Mito Mobile is the kind of device you’ll use more than you might think. I have found that people use the device that’s easiest to start and finish.

Battery-operated handhelds are favorites because they have no wires and don’t tether you to the plug.

The Mito Red Light brand is trustworthy, and you have a 60-day return with no restocking fee to try out the Mito Mobile red light therapy device.
